We, Sean and Sarah, are a husband and wife team who own and operate our own home-based business. We utilize the natural beauty of the outdoors for all of our portrait sessions.

About Sarah:
My first experience with photography was as a child with a simple 110 camera on family outings and vacations. Photography was always around, but it didn't truly become a creative outlet until I was working towards my Bachelor's in Graphic Design and was required to take a black and white darkroom photography couse. Expecting to despite it, I had little expectation for myself as my background stemmed more from hands-on and computer two-dimensional design. But this one course completely changed my perspective on photography, and other things. Every semester after that I was enrolled in a photography course, from basic black and white darkroom to advanced digital media I loved every minute of it.

From the first scheduled portrait session I had as a 'professional' photographer I knew the art of photography would always be in my life. From there I began a Masters in Documentary Photography degree from The Academy of Art and completed that in 2009. By focusing solely on the nature of photography and purely on documentary theory and practices, I've expanded from just photographing what's happening around me to allowing others to express it.

Outside of photographing weddings and portraits I also document local success stories, maintain my own list of personal projects, and is/has been volunteer photographer and graphic designer for area non-profits, including the Kelly A. Dolan Memorial Fund, Southeastern Chapter of the Red Cross, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, and Save the Cherubs.

About Sean:
Taking photographs is was a relatively new concept for me when I met Sarah--it was always an interest but I never had the time or patience to really learn the ins and outs of photography. After working side-by-side with her, as passionate and patient as she is, I have truly enjoyed documenting weddings and special events with her. Since our move to Philadelphia, I have begun on my own journey to complete my degree in Anthropology and hope that I can continue to incorporate my skills as a budding documentary photographer on future archaeological dig sites around the world. But until then, I look forward to each event that I work with my wife and business partner--I wouldn't have it any other way.

About Them:
When you know, you just know.

We were married in July of 2006 in North Carolina. Our wedding was planned by Sarah, her mother, and the venue/caterers. A lot of insight was gained by going from photographer to bride--and although we're not newlyweds anymore, we can truly sympathize with those on a budget and on deadlines.

About FlickFoto:
FlickFoto was established in 2005 as a simple portfolio site for Sarah's fine art work, in namesake of Sarah's father and grandfather, both artists. Supported by a strong local base of happy brides and referring vendors we immediately found a niche in the market as a documentary husband-and-wife team. We've documented a myriad of different types of events from small, intimate beach weddings to a Starbucks wedding (featured in The Cary News, NC) to weddings of several hundred; from all types of religious and cultural backgrounds; and in all different types of locations, from ballrooms, to outdoor vineyards, to churches, to country clubs, to sports stadiums, and restaurants.

In an effort to help Philadelphia-based family, we relocated in 2009 to Ambler and have continued our photography coverage from our new location. Even in the larger market and surrounded by more brides and grooms--and even more photographers--we are still working with couples and families searching for a natural and artistic approach to documentary photography that reveals the truth and beauty of life, laughter, and love, without busting their budgets. We have been truly grateful for the amazing, gracious, and varied clientele we've worked with--and we look forward to every future event and portrait session with vigor and passion.
